"...the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own."

Mary Oliver, "The Journey"

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I provide one-on-one therapy to young people, young adults, and parents.  Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place in my office on Bainbridge Island, but I also offer virtual sessions for anyone in Washington State.

GROUP THERAPY

Facilitating groups has been a particular passion of mine for over two decades.  I get really jazzed by the deep interests of, and natural flow between, my clients, and the power of the group to help propel clients in their individual lives.

PARENT CONSULTATIONS

Parents often reach out to me to consult on their child, and how to best support them.  Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place in my office on Bainbridge Island, but I also offer virtual sessions for anyone in Washington State.

PDA CONSULTS FOR PARENTS

Many parents have begun learning about Pathological Demand Avoidance, wonder if their child might fit the profile, and are seeking guidance.  As one of the first therapist in Washington state to be certified to work with PDA, I'm honored to provide this service.

BRAINSPOTTING THERAPY

Brainspotting taps into the body’s innate ability to heal —helping children and parents reduce the impact of unresolved trauma, negative beliefs, and emotional dysregulation.

You can read more about this modality at Brainspotting.com.

CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

I provide comprehensive training on Neurodivergence for parents, teachers, therapists and local organizations.  Please contact me for more information.

My passion to make the world a less traumatic place for Neurodiverse humans compelled me to co-found a local non-profit organization called Neurodiverse Connections, where I've co-developed a variety of neuro-affirming training courses for parents, teachers, and community members.

THERAPEUTIC ENRICHMENT GROUPS FOR STUDENTS

These groups give students the opportunity to practice skills such as self-advocacy, self-regulation, problem-solving, patience, making new friends, reciprocity in conversations, all in the context of an activity they enjoy and/or are interested in learning more about

In this model, I often partner with experienced specialists to co-facilitate sessions where we put the activity first but support each group member in the practice and development of individual goals.

Themes or interest areas we support (so far) include:

One of the added benefits of groups like this, in my opinion, is that it can give parents a much-needed break — knowing that a trained therapist is there to guide and support your kiddo adds a layer of peace-of-mind often absent from (neuro)typical camp or activity experiences.  You can rest assured that your kiddo is in capable hands.

  • Art & Creativity

This group is focused on using art as a form of expression but also as an opportunity to practice flexibility, getting comfortable in a group, following instructions, listening to your inner voice, mindfulness, self-expression, among other important skills.

  • Girls' World Supper Club

During my time as an elementary school counselor I became fascinated by the complexities of girl friendships that often started right around age 9 and 10. When addressed early on, girls can learn to form strong positive bonds with one another.

They can learn to navigate the often confusing and hurtful experience of relational aggression — skills and insights they will take with them into adulthood. I do this work in individual sessions with clients and in group settings.

  • Non-linear Collaborative Storytelling (a.k.a: Dungeons & Dragons)

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) offers valuable therapeutic benefits for students and young adults by allowing them to explore different identities in a safe environment. Players can reflect on aspects of themselves through their characters, and the partnership between the game master and therapist guides these explorations to foster emotional safety and personal growth.

D&D enhances creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking while reinforcing literacy and math skills. It promotes inclusivity and empathy by encouraging diverse character creation and provides a non-judgmental space for self-expression. For those facing anxiety or social isolation, D&D serves as a structured and safe environment to practice interactions and decision-making, leading to improved well-being.

I am an out of network (OON) provider for insurance companies. If you want to use your insurance benefits, please verify that your insurance will provide coverage prior to making an appointment.

I do not work directly with any insurance companies.  Clients pay me directly, then I produce a special receipt for insurance reimbursement, also called a “super-bill”. This receipt contains all the necessary coding and information that insurance companies require to process your claim.

Please note: School observations, consultations, meetings, document preparation, and legal services usually are not covered by insurance.

Unless other arrangements are agreed upon, clients are required to keep a credit/debit/HSA card on file in my secure portal. I process payments once a month. Once payment is processed, I send you all the necessary documentation to seek reimbursement.

Reduced fee therapy: I do not believe that people in need of appropriate mental health support should be denied access due to an inability to pay. If you are in need of assistance, I have a limited number of spots where I can offer a sliding scale. Let’s work together to get you the support you need.
